“Are you Gus’ son?…You the shower curtain fella?” If you have no idea what that means, you’re about to find out. If you do recognize those two questions, you have great taste in cinematic entertainment!
Thanksgiving is next week and I can’t wait! It’s the second best holiday of the year, in my opinion. Quality time with family, friends, football & food! This also means a few days off of work, a week off of school, and some extra time on your hands.
With a lot of us traveling to visit family and friends (either by car or plane), I thought I’d share three books that have been instrumental to me over the years that you can easily read over your break. I read these years ago, and still find myself referencing them frequently. Audio books are a great way to spend a long car ride or flight, and I highly recommend resisting the urge to tap into the airplane’s WiFi during your next flight. Use your time in the sky as an excuse to take a break from the screen time – your Snapchat will be there for you as soon as you land!
So, in the spirit of simplicity, “if you’re not doing anything productive, go in the living room and” read one of these books!
Why do some ideas survive and others die? This is an easy read, full of stories and examples you can use immediately. Learn to make your point concisely and powerfully by using the below points:
- Unexpectedness (See what I did there Owen?)
Another quick read full of interesting stories that may help you understand why Odell Beckham Jr. catches so many 1 handed Touchdown passes.
Not a quick read. Equally fascinating though and full of stories that bring his ideas to life.
Oh, and I almost forgot… If you didn’t understand the ‘shower curtain fella’ opening. I highly recommend watching the best Thanksgiving movie ever made: Planes, Trains & Automobiles starring John Candy & Steve Martin.
Cheers to a Happy & Healthy Thanksgiving!
