Q: HOW DO I CREATE A RESUME?
A: Once you are in your dashboard (candidate home page) locate section two, which has a list of your resumes. As a placeholder we provide a "Default" resume. Click on it. This will take you to the resume view. Click "Edit" and start adding and modifying the resume.
Q: HOW DO I CREATE A NEW RESUME?
A: You can create a new resume by copying an existing resume to a new copy. To do that enter your existing resume view and click on "Copy to New" at the top of the screen.
Q: WHEN CAN THE EMPLOYER SEE MY RESUME?
A: The employer to whom you are applying can only see your resume after it has been submited. To submit your resume you need to click on the "Submit Resume" button on the right side bar in the resume view.
Q: WHAT INFORMATION ABOUT ME IS VISIBLE TO THE EMPLOYER?
The information that is visible to employer to whom you are applying is the entirety of your resume as well as your email, location and phone (if specified - location and phone are optional).
In addition to the above information the employer can see the results of the required tests that you've taken and consented to share. For psychometric (Cangrade) tests, the employer will be able to view limited information about your personality traits, but will not be able to see your answer to individual questions.
Q: WHAT INFORMATION ABOUT ME IS PUBLICLY VISIBLE?
If you choose to share your resume publicly a number of details will be available about you to any internet surfer. That includes your name and your resume items with the exception of reference names or contact information (if any). Your email, location and phone are NOT visible.
You can also optionally share your personality traits, which is a nice way to differentiate yourself. To share your traits check "Attach my personality trait..." option when sharing your resume.
Q: HOW DO I IMPORT RESUME FROM AN EXISTING FILE?
A: Choose the resume you want to import your LinkedIn profile information to. When in the resume view, click on "Import Resume" and choose "From Existing Document" option. You will be prompted to upload resume file in Word Document, PDF or text format. When done uploading, you will see document resume information added to corresponding parts of your Cangrade resume. You can then modify, fix and complete your resume in the Edit mode.
Q: HOW DO I IMPORT A RESUME FROM MY LINKEDIN ACCOUNT?
A: Choose the resume you want to import your LinkedIn profile information to. When in the resume view, click on "Import Resume" and choose "From LinkedIn Profile" option. You will be asked to authorize Cangrade accessing your LinkedIn information. When done importing, you will see LinkedIn profile information added to corresponding parts of your Cangrade resume. You can then modify, fix and complete your resume in the Edit mode.
Q: HOW CAN I MAKE MY RESUME PUBLIC?
In order to make your resume public click on the "Share Resume" link on the right side bar. You can share resume by its private URL the way it displayed in "Resume URL" box. If you want to make your resume searchable on the internet (including by major search engines) and receive a custom link you can choose an easier path for your resume by choosing a name of your liking in "Vanity URL" box and clicking "Reserve" button. The new custom link URL will be displayed with your chosen name and can now be used for sharing.

Q: HOW CAN I GET AN OFF-LINE VERSION OF MY RESUME?
A: In resume view click on "Download as PDF" link. That will save your resume to a local PDF file.
Q: HOW DO I CHANGE MY ACCOUNT PICTURE?
A: Click on "MY ACCOUNT" in the top menu. Once in the account management page click on the "Change" link next to picture placeholder and select a picture file from your local hard drive. The picture will be clipped to a square shape, so make sure that your face is at the center.
Q: WHERE DO I ADD LOCATION AND PHONE INFO?
Click on "MY ACCOUNT" in the top menu. Once in the account management area type values in the Location and Phone fields and click "Save".
Note: Location can be defined by your ZIP code or City and State.
Q: WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OF PSYCHOMETRIC (CANGRADE) TESTS THAT MY PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER WILL SEE?
Your prospective employer will see a single number from 1 to 100 that represents your match to the job for which you are applying. They will also see your personal traits - the same traits that you see upon completion of the test.
Prospective employers will not be able to view your answers to individual questions.
Q: WHAT DOES MY TRAIT REPORT MEAN?
A: A person's personality has a number of characteristics. We pick few of them which are related to your professional life and analyze them using set of psychometric questions. The traits report that you see is not an exact measure but rather a well-founded approximation. The numbers that you see in the trait report display the percentage of the overall population whose score on this trait is less then yours.
Q: SHOULD I TRY TO MAKE MYSELF LOOK BETTER IN PSYCHOMETRIC TEST?
Probably not. Our advice is to represent yourself as who you are and not as who you want to be or want to be seen as. The reason that this is a better strategy is due to the fact that the accuracy of a job fit match is as important for you as it is to your potential employer.
Furthermore, the test is very difficult to cheat. In most cases, attempting to misrepresent your personality will backfire. The test is using very complex algorithms and hundreds of data points to make its conclusions and it's very hard to predict how any single change in your traits will affect the final result.
The bottom line is: Honesty is the best strategy.
Q: WHY CAN'T I CHANGE MY ANSWERS AFTER SOME TIME?
A: We allow you to change your answer for 30 seconds after the initial answer was submitted. After 30 seconds has elapsed the answer becomes final.
Q: IS THERE TIME LIMIT ON A TEST?
A: No. You can take your time. We do recommend, however, that you answer questions rapidly. In particular for psychometric tests a lot of thinking is actually not required. Of course the situation is different for skills test.
Q: DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE A TEST AT ONCE?
A: You can complete tests at your convenience. If you start and have to leave in the middle you can later come back and pick up exactly where you left it.
Q: HOW CAN I SEND A MESSAGE TO MY PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYER?
You can communicate with your prospective employer in two ways:
1. Click on an application entry in "My Applications" side bar. Once there use "Send Message" option to communicate to your recruiter.
2. In the resume view scroll down to comments section, select the job application regarding which you are communicating and type in your message.
